Everything You Need to Extract Any Archive
UnFox combines 37 format support with a native interface on Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Every feature is designed to make extraction fast, safe, and private.
Core Extraction
The foundation: reliable extraction across 37 formats with safety checks and full control.
37 Formats
Extract ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR.GZ, ISO, DMG, CAB, EPUB, APK, IPA, and 27 more archive and compression formats natively.
Password Support
Unlock password protected ZIP, RAR, and 7Z archives. UnFox prompts for credentials and shows clear errors when the password is incorrect.
Real Time Progress
Track extraction file by file with a smooth progress bar. The macOS Dock badge shows the extraction percentage in real time.
Disk Space Validation
UnFox checks available storage before extracting. The app requires the uncompressed size plus a 10% buffer and cancels if the drive is too full.
Clean Cancellation
Cancel any extraction mid process. UnFox removes partial files automatically so your filesystem stays clean.
File Permissions
UnFox preserves file permissions, timestamps, ACLs, and file flags during extraction. Your files retain their original attributes.
macOS Features
Drag and drop, Finder integration, keyboard shortcuts, and a Dock badge that tracks your progress.
Drag and Drop
Drop archives directly onto the UnFox window. The animated drop zone highlights valid archive files and shows format details.
Split View
A sidebar lists recent extractions with format badges, file counts, and relative timestamps. The detail pane shows archive contents.
Finder Integration
Right click any archive in Finder and select "Extract with UnFox" from the context menu. No need to open the app first.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Cmd+O opens an archive, Cmd+E extracts to the same directory, and Cmd+Shift+E lets you choose a custom destination.
Dock Badge
The Dock icon shows the extraction percentage in real time. You can monitor progress while working in other apps.
System Notifications
Receive a macOS notification when extraction completes. Enable this in Settings when running long extractions in the background.
iPhone and iPad Features
A native mobile experience with QuickLook preview, share extension, and full Files app integration.
File Picker
Select archives from the Files app using the native iOS file picker. All file providers are supported.
QuickLook Preview
Tap any extracted file to preview it instantly. Documents, images, PDFs, and media files open directly in the QuickLook viewer.
Share Extension
Extract archives shared from Mail, Safari, Messages, and other apps. Tap Share, select UnFox, and the extraction starts.
Extraction History
Browse past extractions in the History tab. Each record shows the archive name, format, file count, size, and date.
iPad Split View
The iPad interface features a sidebar with Extract, History, and Settings sections. The detail pane shows archive contents and previews.
Show in Files
Tap "Show in Files" after extraction to jump directly to the extracted folder. UnFox deep links to the exact location.
