Why Did Marcel Build UnFox Unarchiver?

UnFox Unarchiver started because macOS Archive Utility fails on too many formats. RAR, 7Z, ISO, CAB, and password protected ZIP files all produce errors or silent failures with no feedback. Every existing alternative was either cluttered with ads, loaded with tracking SDKs, or required a subscription for basic extraction. Marcel wanted a single, clean tool that opens every archive format on Mac, iPhone, and iPad without compromising privacy.

The result is a native Swift application that extracts 37 archive and compression formats with drag and drop simplicity. UnFox Unarchiver makes zero network calls, contains no analytics framework, and runs entirely on the device. It is free to download from the App Store with no account registration required.
